Rotation Sunday School Sharing

There was a great deal of interest in the rotation model of Sunday school at our recent Youth and Family Network meeting. Here are some of the items shared. Thanks!

From Wendy Hefner, Zion, Hickory. Here is her summer schedule. Click here to email Wendy for more information.

From Mike Holt, Calvary, Concord. We have been doing rotation in children's Sunday school for around 3 to 4 years now.  We started out writing our own stuff, using the same type of format for each lesson and we had several different writers.  This worked really well and I think we put together some really good stuff.....but it took up so much time.  So now we are using Cokesbury material, good stuff with a lot of options.  We four key it too.  We use the material for one month then we enter into a new lesson for another month.  We use to run the material for two months, trying to get all we could from material but the kids were getting bored with it even though they loved Sunday School.

Hope this will give some ideas to those looking into rotation.  It has really worked for us, the children love it.  We start out as one gathering group, sing a song that goes with the materail, go over our memory verse, take up offering and then we divide up into age groups and head to class.

Folks also recommend the www.rotation.org website for free information and resource sharing.
